About ICMMM

International Conference on Materials, Manufacturing and Modelling (ICMMM) is a three day technical event that provides a platform for leading researchers, academicians and industry experts to come together and exchange knowledge and views on global changes in materials, manufacturing and modelling. This event is being jointly organized by the School of Mechanical Engineering (SMEC), VIT in association with American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) Chapter, VIT. It is being planned to organize this event once every two years and ICMMM 2025 will be 5th in the series which is being scheduled for 23rd to 25th January 2025. ICMMM 2025 is being organized as a part of the "Going Global Partnerships Industry Academia Grants" and "UKIERI-4 Strand I Institutional Research & Mobility Partnership Grant" funded by the British Council, New Delhi. The authors of all accepted papers will be invited to present their work during the conference and subsequently the papers will be recommended for possible publication in a Scopus indexed journal.

 

School of Mechanical Engineering (SMEC)


The School of Mechanical Engineering is amongst the premier schools of VIT functioning right from 1984. The school has five departments with a team of highly qualified faculty members, many holding ph.D, from the elite institutes across the globe, to teach and train the best minds of this country.

University of Southern Queensland, Australia

The University of Southern Queensland (branded as UniSQ and formerly branded as USQ) is a medium-sized, regional university based in Toowoomba, Queensland, Australia, with three university campuses at Toowoomba, Springfield and Ipswich. It offers courses in law, health, engineering, surveying and built environment, the sciences, business, education, and the arts. The institution was established in 1969, renamed as University College of Southern Queensland in 1990 and finally the University of Southern Queensland in 1992. It operates three research institutes and seven research centres which focus on a wide range of business, agricultural, scientific, environmental, and technological issues. In 2017, the university won the international Green Gown award for its approach to sustainability focusing on renewable energy, waste reduction, water retention, and integration of sustainability into strategic planning.



Cranfield University, UK

Cranfield University is a British postgraduate public research university specialising in science, engineering, design, technology and management. Cranfield was founded as the College of Aeronautics (CoA) in 1946. Through the 1950s and 1960s, the development of aircraft research led to growth and diversification into other areas such as manufacturing and management, and in 1967, to the founding of the Cranfield School of Management. In 1969, the College of Aeronautics was renamed the Cranfield Institute of Technology, was incorporated by Royal Charter, gained degree awarding powers, and became a university. In 1993 the institution's Royal Charter was amended changing its name to Cranfield University. Cranfield University's specialist areas of focus, or Cranfield themes, aims to bring a range of academic disciplines together in order to tackle the grand challenges facing the world within a range of industrial and commercial sectors. These are Water, Agrifood, Energy and Power, Aerospace, Manufacturing, Transport Systems, Defence and Security and Business/Management.



Liverpool John Moores University, UK

Liverpool John Moores was founded in 1825 as Polytech, it became Liverpool John Moores University (LJMU) in1992. LJMU is a vibrant community of over 23,000 students from over 100 countries and it is integral to the life of the city, with a global approach in forging international partnerships to facilitate world-leading research and collaboration. It is one of the largest, most dynamic and forward-thinking universities in the UK. LJMU is one of the highest climbers nationally in the 2014 Research Excellence Framework, with 60% of research classified as world-leading or internationally excellent. LJMU has the world's largest robotic telescope and a state-of-art maritime 360 simulator. It is now the UK’s 20th largest university and Ranked 66 overall in the UK; and in top 50 for teaching, with 2,975 staff, offering over 250 undergraduate degrees, courses and research.



University West, Sweden

University West is a modern university offering programmes that are in close collaboration with working life in an attractive, modern study environment. The university has about 15,000 students and 625 employees. The campus is centrally located in the town of Trollhättan, close to cafés, cinemas, restaurants, and sports facilities, but also very close to beautiful landscapes. University West is founded on the principle that knowledge is acquired everywhere, not just in the classroom. Integrating work situations into study programmes – so-called Work Integrated Learning – exemplifies the important relationship between the university and the outside world. At University West, students experience an open, informal study environment. Usually, students and instructors are on a first-name basis. This approach encourages dialogue and collaboration between students and the teaching staff, thus stimulating opportunities for new ideas and innovations.



University of Minho, Portugal

The University of Minho, founded in 1973, is one of the then named "New Universities" that, at that time, deeply changed the landscape of higher education in Portugal. Located in the region of Minho, known for its significant economic activity and by the youth of its population, the University of Minho is playing the role of development agent in the region. It offers number of UG and PG Programmes through ten Schools including School of Engineering and School of Medicine. With over 19,000 students (42% of which are postgraduate students) and with about 1300 professors and 600 employees, UM is one of the largest Portuguese universities.



Coventry University, UK

Coventry University is a public research university in Coventry, England. The origins of Coventry University can be linked to the founding of the Coventry School of Design in 1843. It was known as Lanchester Polytechnic from 1970 until 1987, and then as Coventry Polytechnic until the Further and Higher Education Act 1992 afforded its university status that year and the name was changed to Coventry University. It is the UK's fastest growing university and the country's fourth largest overall. It has two principal campuses: one in the centre of Coventry where the majority of its operations are located, and one in Central London which focuses on business and management courses. Its four faculties, which are made up of schools and departments, run around 300 undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Across the university there are 11 research centres which specialise in different fields.



Rajamangala University of Technology, Thailand

Rajamangala University of Technology Krungthep (RMUTK) is a well-known technological university located in Bangkok, Thailand. Established in 2005, RMUTK is a government institution that aims to produce graduates with practical skills. The university is committed to developing and promoting technology and other academic fields. Highlights: RMUTK is known for its strong emphasis on practical skills. The university has a high graduate employment rate, demonstrating the effectiveness of its vocational focus. Academics Courses: RMUTK offers a wide range of courses in fields such as Engineering, Industrial Technology, Science and Technology, and Management Technology. ABOUT ASME-VIT

ASME-VIT is a Mechanical Engineering student chapter in VIT, India. It was established in 2010 with the help of officials from ASME-INDIA. Our vision is to preach knowledge about the practical applications of Mechanical Engineering concepts, provide a platform for students to develop and showcase their technical skills and most importantly; develop a network of professionals working in the industry. In order to accomplish our vision, ASME-VIT has successfully organized symposiums like INERTIA-2013, MECHNOVATE-2015, ASME GT INDIA Conference-2015, HPVC-2016, SPDC-2016. ASME-VIT has also won the Outstanding Student Section Award granted by ASME-INNTERNATIONAL at Asia-Pacific level in August 2016 for its perseverance and overwhelming outreach. ASME-VIT will continue its legacy of success and scale new heights in the years to come.
